Ophelia’s Viper Yellow Sapphire & Emerald Necklace

Ophelia’s Viper is a one-of-a-kind yellow sapphire and emerald necklace by Michaela Farkasovska, created for Teko Gallery’s BIRTHSTONES exhibition.

Inspired by the tragic story of Ophelia in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, a beautifully detailed 14K yellow gold viper coils around a luminous yellow sapphire, guarding its light within the darkness. A vivid green emerald rests within the serpent’s grasp, adding another flash of color and symbolism to the piece.

The serpent represents a love left unfulfilled, while the sapphire holds a final glimmer of light within Ophelia’s sorrow. Sculptural, intricate, and deeply symbolic, Ophelia’s Viper is a tiny wearable world where beauty and heartbreak meet.

Created in celebration of sapphire, the traditional birthstone of September, and emerald, the traditional birthstone of May.
