Tanzanite Flower & Snake Statement Earrings

Whimsical, bold, and a little bit wild, these one-of-a-kind tanzanite statement earrings by Seattle artist Mallika Palwere created for Teko Gallery’s BIRTHSTONES exhibition.

Glowing purple-blue tanzanite cabochons sit at the center of ornate, hand-fabricated silver flowers, surrounded by dimensional petals and beautifully textured details. From beneath each flower hangs a tiny articulated snake, adding movement and an unexpected, playful edge to the design.

Handcrafted in sterling silver and fine silver, the earrings embody Mallika’s love of bold color, nostalgic motifs, nighttime, camp, and over-the-top adornment. At approximately 3 inches long, they make a statement, while weighing only about 7 grams per earring.

The combination of luminous tanzanite, sculptural flowers, and dangling serpents gives the pair an almost otherworldly quality - part botanical treasure, part tiny wearable fantasy.

Created in celebration of tanzanite, a traditional birthstone of December.
